Saffron brings a golden, slightly bitter and metallic spice, and red fruits add a tart, juicy brightness. In the heart, iris is the star: a cool, powdery, slightly earthy and buttery root-and-flower note, here partnered with rose for softness, tonka for sweet-dry warmth and chocolate for a dark, bittersweet depth. The mix should read as powdery flowers with a faint dark sweetness, set against a bright, tart start.
Ambergris, moss and musk give the base. Ambergris is salty and skin-like, moss is cool and green-damp, and musk is soft and clean. The list suggests a perfume that starts spiced and tart, moves into a powdery, chocolatey floral centre and ends in a clean, mineral and mossy softness, so despite the Oriental label it may feel cooler and drier than a typical resinous one.
